Canyon Country Campground
Canyon Country is a quiet & restful park. Our sites accommodate tents, pop-ups, travel trailers, fifth wheels and motor homes. Our single goal is to provide our guests with the highest quality in service and hospitality, insuring that you will not be disappointed with your Canyon Country camping experience.
If everything is not to your liking, please let us know. We will make every effort to correct it. If your stay has been enjoyable, please tell all your friends. We want you to enjoy your stay with us, have a relaxing and safe time, and come back again soon!
We are open April 15th until October 31st. Reservations are accepted up to one year in advance. You may call any day, we will respond to your phone message even when the campground is closed for the season.
We are located along the East Rim of the PA Grand Canyon with a hiking trail from the campground to the overlook level at Leonard Harrison State Park.
The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon country offers rafting or canoeing on the Pine Creek River, taking a narrated Covered Wagon Ride into the canyon or horseback riding by the hour or for a half day to several day trips, hiking or biking the Pine Creek Rail Trail and more. You can visit Whitneyville Glass & Gifts, Draper’s Bee Apiary, Highland Chocolates, and much, much more – all from within walking distance to just a short drive from the campground. Camping at Canyon Country Campground
The campground is nestled in the woods approximately 1 mile from The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The wooded surroundings provide not only shade, but also privacy. Each camping site is provided a picnic table and fire ring. We offer several different hookup options. One is sure to meet your needs.
Whether you need tent sites with hookups for power, or prefer to rough it with no electricity, we have tent sites to meet every need for your type of camping getaway.

Cozy, comfortable cabins
We offer two (2) styles of cabins. Our Rustic Cabins have no bathroom facilities in them so the Bath House is conveniently located nearby. Our Full Bathroom Cabins have hot water for the shower and sink, along with a toilet. For more detailed information, see our Cabins page.
Our store/office includes snacks, necessities and supplies
The campground store/office offers ice, soda, snacks and a limited supply of groceries and RV supplies. For your convenience during your camping experience, we also sell firewood and have an LP tank and/or motorhome refilling service. And if your kids are bored when it’s raining or you just want to relax for an evening…come to the office and rent a DVD player and/or a movie for the night.
Our game room has well maintained and exciting games and activities including an air hockey table, pool table, juke box, video arcade games and more! And bigger kids can enjoy the swings, tires, tunnel, a volleyball court and more!
Convenient laundry room has Internet Access via WiFi HotSpot. The laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers and a book lending library. We have a WiFi HotSpot available around the laundry room which is open 24/7 so you can check eMail if you wish.
The campground bath house has flush toilets and hot showers. Most of all… It’s clean!

Within Walking Distance
We have a hiking trail to the East Rim Overlook at Leonard-Harrison State Park. From there you can hike to the bottom of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
Within a Short Drive
Wellesboro (the closest town) will capture the hearts of anyone who enjoys ‘the way it used to be’ with its authentic gas lighted streets.
Rails-to-Trails follows Pine Creek through the canyon for approximately 63 miles. All of which may be walked or ridden on bicycle. Darling Run access area is within a few miles of the campground. Make a trek to gorgeous Lake Hammond and enjoy the Tioga County countryside.
Pine Creek Outfitters: Outdoor adventures, guided rafting, bicycle and shuttle rentals, canoe and kayak rentals, and more. We rent first-class equipment and provide personal service to each customer.Pine Creek Outfitters has been family-owned since 1984. We are open everyday of the week, will work long hours, and make everything as easy and convenient as possible for you, the customer. We genuinely want you to have a quality outdoor experience every time you visit.
Canyon Cruises: Enjoy boating & bicycling through “Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon”. We rent rafts, kayaks, canoes, bicycles, and all sorts of accessories for any trip you are looking for. Enjoy the quiet flat-water on the upper Pine for the young family or the kicked-back type. If you adventurous, tackle the rapids of the Grand Canyon. Transportation and shuttles are also available — even if you don’t rent anything from us!
Pine Creek Bike Rides: Different bicycle rides around the area.
Wagon Rides: Come take a tour with us through the wondrous Pennsylvania Grand Canyon on a horse drawn covered wagon. The tour guides are fluent in the history of the Canyon going back to the 19th century.
Horseback Riding: For the more adventuresome there is horseback riding, either near the canyon or the mountains. We take great pride in our horses and in our beautiful country. Explore the spectacular scenery of “Canyon Country”

Tioga Railroad: If you would like to sit back and enjoy the view of our countryside you need to take the train ride with it’s open air observation car. They offer excursion or dinner rides.
Pennsylvania Lumber Museum: Home to thousands of objects ranging from prehistoric stone tools to a variety of twentieth century chain saws. Interactive exhibits allow visitors to simulate activities such as swinging an ax, sawing a tree, piloting a log raft, and racing locomotives.
Marsh Creek Wetlands, The Muck: Be sure to visit the new Wildlife and Bird Observation Blind, a project of the Tiadaghton Audubon Society. The Blind is located 300 feet into the center of the marsh at the end of a trail and boardwalk. The Blind is open year-round and is handicap-accessible. It is possible to see beaver, river otter, mink, black bear, and bobcat.

Highland Chocolates: Take a tour of our chocolate making place-Highland Chocolates is owned and operated by Partners In Progress, Inc. Partners In Progress “PIP” is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and is located in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. PIP is committed to people with disabilities to develop and implement vocational, residential and social activities to improve the quality of life for all within our communities.
Arcadia Theater (The Old Theater in Wellsboro) is a 4 screen movie house and performing arts space located right on Main Street in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Featuring state of the art digital projection, the latest films and live theatrical productions, the Arcadia Theatre has been a cornerstone of the downtown since 1921 and continues to be the most popular source for entertainment in Tioga County.
