Looking for a quiet, convenient location to relax after a long day on the road? Or a base camp for sightseeing in the Hershey area? Jonestown/Hershey KOA fits the bill!
Jonestown/Hershey NE KOA is OPEN YEAR ROUND with full service accommodations for RVers and only a mile off I-78 or I-81. We’re only 25 minutes northeast of all Hershey has to offer! We offer a FREE HERSHEYPARK SHUTTLE from Memorial Day through Labor Day with the purchase of discounted park tickets from our general store.
Jonestown/Hershey KOA is truly big rig friendly with long, level pull-through full hook-up sites, some as long as 100′, which can accommodate RVs of any size, as well as tents. Under a canopy of leaves, our sites are nestled along the Swatara Creek, where you may enjoy fishing, swimming or splashing in a canoe, kayak or tube rental from the campground. Nature’s tranquil beauty abounds in the adjacent Swatara State Park where you can enjoy the many miles of hiking and biking or discover Fort Indiantown Gap which is the home of PA National Guard and the National Cemetery. You could also day trip to Lancaster’s Amish Country, Gettysburg, Cabela’s or Knoebel’s Grove Amusement Park.
Our General Store offers Broaster chicken (which can be delivered to your campsite), groceries, live bait, RV supplies and delicious ice cream all year!

Our rustic cabins sleep 4 people comfortably. We can accommodate a fifth person with a cot, available upon request.

CAMPGROUND ACTIVITIESJONESTOWN KOA OFFERS CANOE, KAYAK & TUBE RENTALS ON THE SWATARA CREEK.The Swatara Creek is a pleasant novice run of moving water that courses a lazy path through mountain gaps and scenic farm country. You can put down the paddle, fish & float away the miles as you relax the day away.
We currently offer sit-in kayaks (weight limit 250 lbs.), sit-on single & tandem kayaks, canoes (with weight limit of 400 lbs.) and tubes with canvas covers.
While floating the “Swattie”, you’ll have the opportunity to pass through Swatara State Park, a park that is currently undeveloped but open to the public for hiking, biking, fishing & hunting.
Take a lunch on your trip and enjoy a picnic along the banks of the “Swattie”. The Park hosts Union Canal locks, fossil beds, a rail trail & the Appalachian Trail Bridge.
Unfortunately, during times of low rainfall, there are a few areas of the creek you must portage around and occasionally there is a fallen tree.

We have a robust menu featuring Broaster chicken 2, 4 & 8 piece meals, jumbo Wings with over 20 sauces & rubs to try and we’ve recently added our own Smoked Ribs to the menu! We also have a full menu of sides, fresh made subs and sandwiches on premises, hamburgers, hot dogs & our own pulled pork sandwiches. We will be adding more to our menu so when you check-in ask for an updated menu. You can order by phone & have it delivered to your site or eat in one of our small dining areas in the store. After dinner you can indulge in an ice cream cone, sundae, split or shake from our ice cream shop. Spring through Fall, we serve 20 flavors of Turkey Hill hand-dipped ice cream and and some of the creamiest soft serve ice cream you’ll find anywhere. You are also able to purchase beer by the bottle or 6-pack from our general store.

SECOND MOUNTAIN HAWK WATCHHawk Watch offers a great vantage point to see Fort Indiantown Gap and overlook Stony Valley and the mountains beyond. A variety of raptors can be seen from Hawk Watch including sharp shinned hawks, harriers, bald eagles and golden eagles.
From I-81, take exit 85B toward Fort Indiantown Gap, then merge onto Fisher Ave. Travel 0.5 miles and turn left onto Asher Miner Road. Continue 2.2 miles on Asher Miner Road until it becomes Moonshine Road / PA-443. Continue 1.3 miles and follow signs to Second Mountain Hawk Watch. Please be advised that Hawk Watch is at the end of an unmaintained dirt road

SWATARA STATE PARKThe 3,520-acre Swatara State Park consists of rolling fields and woodlands situated in the Swatara Valley, between Second and Blue mountains. The scenic Swatara Creek meanders the length of the park and is surrounded by forests and wetlands that support a diversity of wildlife. With almost 30 miles of hiking, biking and mountain bike trails and the Appalachian Trail this state park is definitely a nature lovers paradise.
